National Center of Disable Persons

Who we are

We help people with disabilities regain dignity and lead a normal life. Launched in 1997, we are a local semi-autonomous organization run by people with disabilities. We currently have five projects that directly benefit 1,800 people every year. Among them, our Retail Outlet project provides support to disabled people, particularly landmine survivors, through the production and sale of quality handicrafts.

What we do

This project aims to improve the financial situation and living standards of people with disabilities, particularly women. We support disabled persons in all aspects of handicraft production including design, manufacturing, quality control, and a venue to display and sell their products. This way disabled persons from provinces throughout Cambodia have an opportunity to be self-employed and earn income to support their families.

Every year, we provide direct assistance to approximately 150 people with disabilities to earn an income through the sale of their products, in addition to sub-contracting approximately 450 people with disabilities, which in turn supports approximately 750 family members.

In future we wish to see Cambodian handicrafts reach a high level of quality, which in turn increases the number of retail and wholesale orders both inside and outside Cambodia. We also plan to become a business enterprise that can generate income to support our other activities.

What you can experience

• At our main retail outlet in Phnom Penh, browse our diverse product range - most of which are made of Cambodian silk - including fashion accessories, photo frames, scarves, boxes, key rings, cards, home wares, gifts for children and infants, fashion accessories and Christmas products. Our shop is located on Norodom Boulevard and is open daily from 8am-7pm.
• We can also develop customized products for wholesale production, as well as export services such as:
• o product development
• o design interpretation
• o textile development
• o special packing requests
• o shipment coordination
• We also offer a special made-to-order service of home wares, where you can choose your own colour pallet and product design.
